My submission for the Fancy Pants Art Contest. First art contest I've ever submitted anything for, and glad to have submitted it even though I doubt my piece would reach the top 5. I look at this as one of the best character illustrations I've made, and it probably takes the top for the amount of time I've put into one piece (~3 days). There are obviously hitches here and there and things that I probably could have / later can improve on, but for now, this is the result that I'm happy with. I also learned something new while making this: the "paper" background texture. So that's always good.

I look at art as something subjective to the creator, not the audience, and something should only be published if the creator is happy with how it ended out, no matter what others may think of it. Art as a whole is a way of making your own "children" that you can be proud of now and in the future, so you should take the time and effort to shape it into something you love.
