Day #1 of my "learning to do real art" journey. For those who aren't aware (literally everyone) I've never touched pencil to paper outside of doodles on the side of my homework in school. I've a bit of experience with most other types of art and my primary hobby these days is sculpting and painting miniatures. I'm about to have a lot more free time so I picked up a cheap tablet and Open Canvas and decided to finally learn how to draw/illustrate so I can make the other things I want to do later on. I've decided to document this adventure on Newgrounds and Twitter. That being said, I've literally never used Twitter before so if anyone wants to jump over there and give me a follow it would be nice to not be posting pics to the void.

So far from my first day what I've learned is #1 linework is extremely difficult, some of the things from painting carried over like edge highlighting, and object source lighting techniques, which is nice. I do kind of feel like this piece is a bit of a copout to avoid having to draw distinct noticeable lines though. I'm probably going to keep playing to my strengths until I'm more comfortable using a stylus and the software, and in the mean time I *think* what I need to work on is shapes and lines. We'll see how that goes, the main reason I'm making these posts is because I would really really really appreciate if any other artists or other experienced with 2D art in general provide critiques. I haven't networked in this hobby group at all so it's difficult to find an honest opinion, and I'm very much looking forward to improving, but in my experience the most enjoyable way to improve is with a solid community to bounce ideas and results off of.

So yeah, give me a follow on twitter, even if you mute me or whatever, the number going up feels nice, and it's totally at zero right now. Thanks for reading!
