Paras Regional Form

Share

A Paras Regional Form drawn by yours truly.

Believe it or not, Paras and Parasect are two of my favorite Pokemon... mostly just design-wise.

And pretty much the only reason I get one is for catching purposes: Spore + False Swipe.

I do NOT like however the fact that the mushrooms on top of Paras will eventually kill it.

So I made this here regional variant:

I remembered that some hermit crabs "plant" sea anemones on their shells to further protect themselves from predators...

so I had my Paras put two Lileep-likes on its back! Now Paras is no longer infected with Parasites but protective symbiotes!

...honestly: Why hasn't anyone at Gamefreak thought of that! Making a Pokemon based on the hermit crab - sea anemone mutualism!

Well...? What do you guys think?

PS: Yes I know Lileep is a fossil Pokemon... meaning extinct. Give me a break, okay?

this drawing's alright. you've got a good sense of colour and ehh for form. the black contrasted with the purples and orange is pleasing to the eye (though, personally, i'd up the contrast). i like the camera angle! it shows off the pokemone quite well. i'm pretty sure there are some tangents around the purple anemone things and the hind legs.

although, to emphasis the shape, you should add more darker shadows on the pokemon. not as dark as the cast shadow, but enough to understand both the roundness and where the light is coming from. it's looking a bit flat rn

also, two nitpicks:
1. i don't like how the pokemon's staring directly at me.
2. make sure you fill in the colours properly, the are some areas (notable the anemone things) that have purplish specks where there shouldn't be.
