PS: Can anyone give me any tips drawing gunfire and blood spots/splatter?

About gun fire: You can go for a cartoonish approach, so... you shape the flare like a pointy flower that gets out of the gun's barrel.
Can't go wrong with the contrast between yellow to reddish for the flare, i hope that helps.
