Bardock: This will change everything! Both my fate... and yours!

Omni-Man: Maybe you don't understand, Earth isn't yours to conquer.

Bardock, the father of Goku from Dragon Ball, and Nolan Grayson, AKA Omni-Man from Invincible. Yet another matchup that makes me question why I keep making assumptions because apparently Bardock could actually threaten Omni-Man more than Homelander ever could. While Bardock is no Broly or Beerus, he can destroy a planet, something Nolan can't do on his own. Not to mention Ki would likely threaten Nolan if it's hot enough or just strong enough. Do keep in mind, DBS: Broly had Bardock actually halt Frieza's attack for a bit. It didn't stop it or save his people, but the fact that he slowed it down a bit when that attack could destroy a planet and everyone on it is certainly impressive. Not sure if we even need to add Super Saiyan Bardock in there to make it even.

You could probably guess why this matchup is popular, it's actually a double-threat. Both are fathers of the main characters, and while not irredeemable, their parenting is... dubious at best. Nolan ultimately does care about his wife and son, but views Debby as more of a pet due to how he'll outlive her. He also loves Mark, but still beat him to a pulp and tried to break his spirit, only to give up on his conquest of Earth when he couldn't go through with cutting Mark down permanently. While things like Minus and Super infamously changed it, Bardock in his debut didn't care about Kakarot and was disappointed by his power level, only really being proud of him when he saw his son would defeat Frieza (But not kill him like Bardock thought, Trunks did that, but you could argue Goku's progeny helped him get there). Less controversally, those works also establish that, while still a Saiyan with countless innocent deaths under his belt, Bardock genuinely loves his wife Gine and their genuine bond is rare among Saiyan couples. Hell, Bardock's one of the few Saiyans we see with girlfriends besides Goten, Tarbles, and maybe Caulifla that isn't an Amazon Chaser. Even Goku and Broly are. Another interesting point for this matchup is the ol' Superman Vs. Goku angle, here we have Goku's rougher, far less benign father, against a pastiche of Superman who, alongside being vastly different in personality from other evil Supermen like Brightburn and Homelander, doesn't even have the same powerset as Clark. From what I know of Invincible, Nolan isn't even the Superman position of the Guardians of the Globe. That role seems to go to Immortal. Invincible fans feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that.

As for the scenario for a fight, the DBZ episode-styled title kinda says it all. Not gonna try a whole fight here but I'll try a setup...

(The scene opens on the planet Viltrum, surrounded by warships as beams and balls of Ki blast through the skies and buildings crumble)

Narrator: In the depths of space, a battle rages on between the ruthless Viltrumite Empire and the dreaded Saiyan Invaders! Only one race of conquerors can claim the stars around them! Among the carnage of the city, a lone soldier walks away from the latest battle in his long life.

(Nolan, in the white-and-grey suit of a Viltrumite subordinate, walks away from the corpses of a Saiyan squadron)

Nolan: You Saiyans are all the same... (A hand reaches for an armband of one of the slain Saiyans, its white clothe turning crimson with the blood of Nolan's handiwork) You all think fancy light shows make you unstoppable, but at the end of the day, you're just a bunch of savages who don't understand their place.

(Nolan turns to face the figure)

Bardock: I'm not gonna be judged by some pretentious Viltrum trash. (Ties his fallen comrades bloodstained band around his head) You don't seem to understand, Nolan, this universe isn't yours to conquer!

(The lone Saiyan warrior charges towards the Viltrumite soldier; Nolan holds his hand up to block, but is sent flying back; getting up, he cracks his neck, both impressed and annoyed, then soars at Bardock to return the punch)

FIGHT!
