Road To Oblivion (Full)

Share

Sora's journey to find Castle Oblivion to save Namine, making an uneasy agreement with Marluxia in the process. However, in typical Sora fashion, he breaks from the path that's set for him and forms many new bonds, learning new things about Light, Darkness, Hearts, Nobodies, and a bit about himself and these mysterious people he's associating with.

This is honestly a thing I'm quite proud of, so why not post it on my Birthday for self-indulgence? For years I've taken apart and put back together a cluttered crossover fan-canon with little direction that changes on a whim and tries to add everything in it. Making it into a Kingdom Hearts story actually makes it easier to follow and understand. Yes, really. It gives me a protagonist to follow (for the most part) that's great for crossovers and meeting people, and it's really fun fitting other worlds into Kingdom Hearts' Light-Darkness-and-Hearts stuff. (Making people like Peach, Zelda, Ribbon, and Amitie Princesses of Heart; working in Dark counterparts like the Princesses of Shadow, including Riju, Tron, Daisy, Charlotte, Adeleine, and Morrigan; Mono being a Nobody; Springtrap being a Heartless; Sig, Rain, Charlotte, and Morrigan helping enforce that not all things tied to Darkness are evil like the Heartless; Homer just being there; etc.) I've dabbled with darker-but-not-evil takes on characters and worlds and I love what I have so far with these. It's a fan-multiverse I'm proud of. I get that people are kinda sick of multiverse plots, but the kind of 'verses I'm into aren't "Millions of Earths with slightly different versions of the same people" like what you get in Marvel, DC, or the Citadel of Ricks, but rather what Lego Dimensions engrained into my head and Kingdom Hearts kept stuck in there, a big crossover multiverse with different worlds and different people on them. Really, alternate timelines with the same people are kept pretty minimum with my current Multiverse and while I'm still taking time to figure out the plot of Sora's next adventure, I'm genuinely happy with this fanon and I'm glad I made it.

This is pretty cool! On a related note, I subscribe to both versions of the multiverse. To paraphrase Bioshock Infinite, “Sometimes it’s something small like different colored curtains or tea instead of coffee, but other times… it’s something completely different.”

P.S. Happy Birthday!
