Those hearts in the background are Natsuki's projectiles. She's above the stage fighting Dracula's Skeleton Gunmen. All while this Demon in human disguise is giving a beautiful performance below to pay rent. Hey, Makai has an economy too. This piano girl and Natsuki recognize each other, and promptly do everything they can to ignore each other. Which is kind of hard when there's a bunch of hearts and bullets flying in the platforms above your performance. Regardless, Monika doesn't stop playing until her song is finished. Then the last remaining gunman tries to flee and falls in her piano.

Monika: ..........(Rips the gunman's spine out and holds it up to the audience)

Audience: (Cheers)

  I was wondering what to do with Natsuki's former clubmates. One idea was that Monika tried starting a new life, only for the other three to run back into her. This was scrapped for many reasons, demonizing the others, downplaying Monika's issues, and the general fact that Monika and Natsuki were really the only characters from Doki Doki I liked. Sayori felt like she was trying way too hard to be cute (and coming from a cuteness addict like me, that's saying something) and Yuri...well, let's just say when Pokemon Sword and Shield came out, I saw a video where someone makes masturbatory sounds whenever Sonia was shown, and I felt sick looking at Sonia after that for a while. So let's just say Monika did too good a job making me not want to see more of Yuri. So I hanged the ideas for Sayori and Yuri out to dry. Yes, I said that intentionally, it's October.

  I see a lot of works that discard Monika's regrets at the end of the game and just keep her evil, or make her more evil. I guess that's fair. I mean, I'm fighting the urge to portray Bayonetta or Meliodas as evil in the Multiverse, because one hunts Angels and the other is a sick freak we're meant to find endearing. (There's a reason Prince Diamond in the Multiverse didn't try the same things his canon counterpart did), also he started a whole war over a girl. I get love and all, but maybe a girl ain't worth a whole war, asshole.
