Maybe a year ago at work I started drawing this character and I really like her. I called her Clementine. She's like a little evil Catholic girl and I think I'd like to do some more stuff with her. I thought about doing some small comics with her in it but I don't have very many ideas for any just yet. I'll keep thinking about what I could do though because I do love her, I think she's really cute.

My inspiration for her design was the little goth girl characters that ruled the 90s-early 2000s like Emily the Strange, Lenore the Cute Little Dead Girl, and Ruby Gloom. I really miss that era of goth girl characters and get sad sometimes looking back on those days. But I thought I should create my own and bring that feeling back in some form. I was going to give her black hair but that seems like such a cliche for the goth girl that I wanted to change it up a bit. So I gave her some like strawberry-apricot colored hair. Who knows I might change that later but as of right now I prefer it over just black/dark hair. I think it kind of makes her stand out.

I experimented a little with the background, still just kind of trying to figure out what to do for backgrounds. I think the more sketchy line work works for this image because Clementine is supposed to be edgy, grungy, etc. I mean she's an evil Catholic girl I think the sketchy lines work for her. She does have a sort of "supernatural" friend that I created with her who isn't shown in this picture. The next time I do something with her I might add him. I think this companion of her's that I made is super funny, it's funny to me at least because it's a direct reference to Shadman. It's a possessed teddy bear with a skull for a head named Chad. I've liked Shad's work for a really long time and I know he does a lot of goth girl stuff, especially Creepy Suzy who I fucking adore. So it seemed like a good fit and a funny reference to make. Idk I'm probably the only one who thinks it's funny, well besides like one of my friends.
