T-04-290 "The Veil of Ignorance"

Share

"Once you look at the tragedy and suffering of the world, it's impossible to close your eyes. The screams will pierce the strongest earplugs, and the dread will never leave the nerves."

_____________________________________________________________________________________

"The abnormality is a broken mirror, however instead of a reflection, it shows all the suffering possible. From the past, present, future, and even other realities."

The veil of ignorance is a fickle thing, it is bliss after all. And all good things must come to an end, it's only natural.

When you first look into the mirror, it might show you some simple sad displays, you still have a chance, look away now, for soon it will be too late.

Then, it strikes, every suffering human shown to you in an instant, the screaming will be so loud that you might just lose your hearing. Such depravities of the human and nature itself shall stab you 12 times over. You'll puke, but it hasn't set in yet, close your eyes or else...

You'll realize.

You'll realize, you can't look away. No matter how much blood you see, how many tears are shed, and no matter how much you want to stop. You can't look away, you've broken the veil. This is it now, your life will be plagued by the suffering of the distant other, and when you close your eyes you'll want to tear them open, because once you stop being ignorant, you can never be ignorant again.

All of this in just 10 seconds, and once those 10 seconds are up, and you can pull yourself up from off the floor and wipe your face. Get out here and help me move these boxes, we still have a job to do.
