The first thing that I thought of when I heard isolation was just how isolating it can be to be transgender especially early on. I can remember being surrounded by other people and feeling like I was all alone. I wanted to try to capture that in this illustration. In the center of the image is a young trans man and he is surrender by a crowd. Yet he cries because he feels out of place and lonely. I want to say that feeling doesn’t last forever and one day you’ll find your people. However I know all to well that the feeling is real and valid. My hope is that seeing this image might make someone else feel a little less isolated themselves because I promise you, you are not alone!
