My monitor is finally home, and in between I saw the new upd8 of Homestuck, and I started to scream with excitement, I have long wanted to see the presence of Commander Vantas and more demonstrating his close relationship with Meenah.

It may be hard to believe, but ever since Meenah appeared in Act 6 and talked Karkat into joining her army against Lord English and Karkat asking her to be part of the Condesce's army I knew that the two of them MUST be together, no matter if it was as a quadrant, but they had to be together. Maybe even Meenah had a red crush on Karkat at that time so I empathized with her and thought it would be good for them to be a couple, from that moment on it became my OTP and the other Karkat and Meenah shipings started to matter to me nothing, I insisted that the ideal would be for the two of them to be together.

When the retcon arrived and seeing Karkat give up his position as leader and give it to Vriska I was quite disappointed, he was no longer the Karkat I knew, and although the feedback he has with Dave is nice, the reality is that I never ended up liking that Karkat. That's why when I read Candy's epilogue I was jumping from my chair because he was taking the path that I always wanted it, and while it was true that Karkat alone was not going to be able to do anything, the enormous influence of Meenah for being from the royalty was going to help him a lot in his goal, so I was very excited that in the end they were together.

Now in this latest update we were able to see something closer to them, there is really nothing clear if they are in a quadrant, but I couldn't care less, just knowing that Karkat admits that Meenah has never wavered and was always with him, plus that together they "built something amazing together", that's enough for me and I don't need to see more of them, of course, unless they continue together and understand each other. Karkat also got the transcendence and respect that he always wanted to have, something he begged and cried for, and Meenah for her part was able to stay by Karkat's side as she wanted from the beginning and also give him everything he wanted and deserved.

Anyway, I couldn't be happier to see this direction, and that's why I made the drawing for the update, in addition to everything that I love Karkat's new look from the first moment I saw it.
