every phase is done back and forth between everyone in the game, four phases is one round
phase one, calculate your total income
phase two, build ships in your systems
phase three, move ships
phase four, fight
owning a rim system gives you 10,000c income every round
owning a mid system gives you 100,000c income every round
owning a core system gives you 500,000c income every round
a rim system can support a fleet of 2,000,000c
a mid system can support a fleet of 5,000,000c
a core system can support a fleet of 10,000,000c
a system with civilian ships gains an income of 2x the cost of those ships
a system with a ship cost thats more than it can support loses an income of 2x the amount over support limit
ships can move up down left or right of a system
ships with ftl can jump one system over these directions
a system is owned by the faction with the highest ship cost in the system
a battle happens when two ships of different factions are on the same system and one of them wishes to engage the other
once a battle is started every ship in the system is spawned somewhere in the system and the random system effect table is rolled
a battle is finished if all enemy ships are destroyed immobilized or retreated off the map
ships are only lost if they are immobile after a lost battle or are destroyed beyond repair
