Heres my entry for draw with jazzas "untraditional art" competition/challenge.
WIP http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1425020/6#bbspost26086762_post_text

Untraditional materials : chicken feathers
Other materials : paint, wooden plate adn glue.

It is a fish skelton (i think) made of chicken feathers from my pet chickens, Cersei, jon snow and Gisim (brother said no to more GoT names) The chickens were stalked by me waiting for feathers to fall off. When i had a pile i cut everything off exept the ... err, the quill i guess off. I now only have the "bone-like" thing i want. I washed them and cut them into pieces that could form a skeleton.
Since Khaleesi,
Tyrion and Arya(some of our chickens) died of old age some time ago, we got three baby chicks (i wanted to name them Drogon, Viserion and Rheagal, but noooo). That was quite handy to get some smaller feathers too. I patined some of the feathers whiter (with paint) and smacked them on a wooden plate when i was happy with the design of the skeleton. Then i painted the head white and glued bone pieces on it for a more jagged look. That didnt go well.
I still needed a "finishing touch" so i scraped some rib bones with my scissors. I then thought it looked ok and i decided to scrape some more where the fins would have been. And there you have it!
I wanted to make something out of the "waste" of the chickens (and i did not choose poo) and i think i have. The head could have turned out better, but the rest looks ok
