A 2018 painting I made to test and further my art skills. It was the first time I had sat down and actuallly attempted to make a large-scope painting in a more realistic style, and it helped me study things I had not yet tackled before, such as non-cel shading, color choices, anatomy, the bunching of clothes, and natural flow of hair. I remember being really impressed with myself at the time, but now I can see the improvements that I needed to make (as well as what I still need to do)
I intended to have the character have a slightly toxic vibe to him, something sickly or ghoulish while remaining well and confident on the outside. That let me have a lot of fun with the color choices, and I tuned the color and shading of the hair and skin based on what I established in and around the eyes.
