Hi! I'm trying Newgrounds out for the first time, and I'm getting my gallery started by posting 25 of my favourite pieces. This is the 13th.

This was originally posted on 10/06/2019. Here we are! This is my favourite drawing of all time. I was playing around on colormind.io and got a randomly generated palette that just looked really really nice. It inspired me to design a character with that colour scheme, and then I just sort of bashed this out. This is some of the best anatomy I've ever drawn, and even with some iffy parts with the leg and far hand I think it holds up really well, even if I do say so myself. I think the colours which inspired me in the first place are what really make it, though.

This was just going to be a random nameless character who in all likelihood we'd never see again, but... boy howdy did this snowball into a huge thing. It started when I decided I liked her and gave her a name: Sammi. Then a month later in July (tomorrow's pic), I designed another random character based on a vague idea which had been knocking around in my head for about 2 years. And then I looked at both of them and thought "Hey, they contrast each other really well, wouldn't it be fun if they knew each other?" And then they became two species on an alien planet. And bit by bit, it all grew into a huge detailed world with history, and folklore, and traditions... and just yesterday, funnily enough, I started actually creating their language instead of just leaving it as an alphabet -

ʒek niθ nita zeg faf samk çedurof niθ kōtiʒ zeg!

[Translation: right now it's small, but hopefully in future it'll become great!]

(Of course, in retrospect the context of this pic changes somewhat. According to the lore I thought up much later, she's not wearing a kōtan so it's actually horrendously indecent! But hey, what can you do? 😛)
