clockclock (blue album)
In 2004, an uninspiring clock known as ClockClock hit the scene with his hit album, Clockclock. This album, which was criticized for being extremely similar to another album released around 10 years prior. The main singles on this album included hit songs such as "The Crickets", "Unraveled (The Coat Song)", and "Well, If That's So". Sadly, after their later album, Cio-Cio San, became a radio flop, he quit music for a bit, and went to Harvard. He can be seen sometimes in the library, ticking away to a beat vaguely similar to "Island In the Sun".
Reviews:
Upon release, CNET gave a mixed review, stating:
This is literally just Weezer, but with minor lyrical variations pertaining to clocks. What even is this?
In 2005, Pitchfork gave them a meagerly 3.6 of 10, noting:
[B]ut hey, at least it's better than Make Believe.
Rivers Cuomo, in a seemingly damnatio memorae'd interview on CBS's program 60 Minutes, he gave an extremely confusing ramble about it.
I mean, Clockclock is funny, okay? I don't know how the [explicit] he's able to talk, because he's a goddamn clock. He sings, though, and he does pretty good at it. How does he eat, does he just absorb it? Is he unable to eat? If he unwinds, does that mean he's dying?
After this, Mr. Rivers alleged that he knew what he said, but after allegations of clock-racism, he took down the entire episode, headed down to Viacom's headquarters, and expunged any archives relating to that interview. However, CBS claims that it was due to him covering the topic of Weezer's Raditude that he destroyed all copies of the episode.
