plausibly one of the main antagonists of the story that lucius guy is from. basically a concentrated, hypermutated cluster of the space virus plaguing the sector; it is capable of higher intellect than the other mutated creatures the virus bore, and likely has the ability to command the lesser ones like a hivemind. (its a space virus chumps. i make the rules)

It either chose to mimic the form of the greatest threat to existence by choosing to look a lot like lucius, or there might have been another nurse-supersoldier that it managed to assimilate and is using their body.

i never played the metroid prime games but i have this nagging feeling that this thing is a lot like the whole dark samus thing. so bear with me if it's similar, it didnt occur to me until later
