But the moment of serenity didn't last long. During another outing, Yuriko and Asha made a misstep. The cannibalism of Yuriko's new toy had played havoc with them, and they had attracted the attention of the local authorities, which had put them on the wanted list. Predictably, that's when Ona showed up. Lady, disappointed by Yuriko's carelessness, punished her by confiscating her new toy, Asha.

For a whole year, Yuriko found no place to be, she went to her mother repeatedly, asking her to return Asha. However, the only thing she could achieve was to rebuke her daughter for failing to train her toy.

It made no sense to cross the Lady, but something inside Yuriko resisted her mother's words. She continued to do her work as before, but she didn't even realize the changes that were taking place in her mind. She prioritized her mother's goals as before, thinking only of them, but now... now she was catching herself more and more often worrying about her new toy.... her... uh... friend.

One day, Yuriko returned to her mother's office and saw Asha again. She was standing by the Lady's desk, completely devoid of emotion, like a gynoid programmed to fulfill only her goals.

Yuriko looked at Asha's face, at the bottom of which, was a new, modern implant, very different from the previous one. The metal part of the face was covered, restrained.
