Of all the raider and pirate strongholds and scattered stations that they own, there's none more fortified and bigger than that of the 'Tomb of the Warriors'. Amassive floating mining colony, built long ago in the hay days of the Republic. Constantly expanding since then, and digging deep into the heart of the asteroid, the station is a complex hive of multiple dug in cities all connected to each other. Having traded hands numerous times after the fall, it was in 2743 when the residents had enough. They had taken blow after blow from corporate Earthers or Earther nations all over the free colonies.
After a successful uprising against a now defunct corporation, their sovereignty was constantly at risk. That was, until the Terran Federation won the war and started selling off massive numbers of old Azen ships to the lowest bidder. With a small fleet secured, the Spacers now had a way to defend their sovereignty, but new problems had arisen. There wasn't enough food. There were not enough processing plants inside the asteroid to make enough. What better way to get food than to take it?
Micro-nation turned to piracy. And eventually piracy turned to raiding. Those Earthers have far too much food anyway, and there's far too many of them. Space is our birthright. Not theirs, and they owe us a tax to use what belongs to us.
Eventually, after constant counter attacks by nations, corporations, or mercenaries, the station itself had become a graveyard. It became a tomb. And thus they had gotten their name.
