This is a long overdue tribute pic for the late and great Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants. When I heard about his passing almost 6 years ago, I was devastated. He was an inspiration to many people and was one of the most genuinely wholesome people around Nickelodeon. It also inspired me to try to get to work on my SpongeBob comic, it will be a an even bigger tribute to him and the legacy he left behind. The scene from the Red Mist Retake perfectly reflects on me and many people’s feelings towards Hillenburg’s passing, hence why it inspired me to make my own version of that scene. Happy 25th anniversary little square dude, you’re definitely become more funny than 24… And Rest in Peace Stephen Hillenburg, we still miss you after over 5 years since you been gone, but we will still cherish the memories we’ll have on your work as long as we live.
