I recently learned about the Cutie Honey franchise and ended up finding it to actually be really cool without having tasteless fanservice. Specifically the 3 part OVA: RE Cutie Honey produced by Studio Gainax in 2004 that mixed insane animation, fun action, drama and fanservice without ruining the point or pacing... It hits the right balance of sexy and awesome.
