The Forceless Archfiend of the Onderon system. If you're wondering where the wing flaps are, they got burned off for this scene. And yes, those are Kur'Ada ships in the background. That capital ship is a Katana-class battleship. The Dragoon, the ship Fafniros is landed on, is a Katana battleship as well. And that smaller ship is a Glaive-class interceptor.
Homeworld: Unknown; Summoning site: Dxun
Species: Unknown (cyborg); artificial life form; sole member of species.
Gender: Male
Closest in size to: An X-Wing starfighter.
Weapons: Energy blasts, claws, barbed tail, wings
Affiliation: Forceless Collective; Rank: Archfiend
Notable traits: 10 eyes; metal plating for skin; two grafted sublight engines for space travel; mechanical wings for atmospheric travel; tail and outer jaw pieces are mechanical as well.
No one knows the origins of this sapient cyborg dragon, but it is said that Fafniros was the first artificial Archfiend and cultivated specifically to fight for the Forceless Collective. Instead of skin, he has metal plating with with some of his muscles exposed between the cracks. For some of his body parts, he has robotics instead. Over the years fighting for the Collective, Fafniros has developed a sense of honor unheard of for beings that were born to serve the Collective, sometimes refusing to fight or serve those he perceives as weaker than him. However, this behavior annoys the coldly pragmatic Forceless symbiote inside his body, and this still makes him a threat to the galaxy.
Current status: Killed at the Battle of Onderon by Jedi Knight, Zolph Vaelor.
If there are any design changes I would make, I would redesign his feet to be more digitigrade (I didn’t quite understand the concept at the time) and give him a longer tail with a blade on it (ala Ridley from the Metroid series). I’d also redesign that Kur’Ada starfighter to make it more apparent that the cannon is supposed to be attached to the wing.
