During my world-building, I came across an issue. Since there is genetic engineering (99% of this world's creatures are genetically engineered), and factions are mostly against working together, disease would be incredibly rampant. And that's when the Hub Disease Research Organization was written.

The HDRO is an organization who's main mission is to control the spread of the genetically engineered diseases that on occasion plague the Hub. The organization started independently in 2575 as a disease, codenamed "The Devil's Plague", started to kill large towns across the globe. The HDRO, with only a budget of 50,000 credits and operating out of vans, managed to find a way to suppress symptoms of the Devil's Plague, and after enough sales, they managed to make a vaccine. Nowadays, they are the largest medicine producer and epidemiological research group in the Hub and the star system.
