I'm fond of the old short films Nelvana made in the late '70s, like "The Devil and Daniel Mouse" and others. They had some very expressive animation and occasional hilarious characters, like Gizmo, the shifty junk dealer from "Romie-0 and Julie-8" aka "Runaway Robots."

The Nelvana people were really good at these smug sleazy characters. Mylar from "Rock and Rule" is another good example; these roles were kind of a hallmark of Nelvana during that creative period.

Drew this one quite a while ago but finally cleaned it up. Inks and paints composited digitally; all work is my own.
