Finally got around to solidifying her design. A while back I was trying to work on a way to redesign her mane style but I don't know if I was too hung up on wanting it to look too much like the old one or if I'm just better at designing mane styles but I didn't really have much of a trouble here. back then (and remember Spiralhoof is one of my first ever OCS) I just didn't really understand how to make the shapes work. I feel like now I've just got a better understanding at making it look like hair haha.
Anyway, here's this old friend, brought into the modern age.
I'd also redesigned her cutiemark, since it was just a black spiral XD
Much like Spirit Wind, who's buttmark was just a plain yinyang png I got off the internet and threw into ponycreator (as he was the first OC I ever made) I liked how the general colour scheme felt because I was used to it and didn't want to change it too much cus then it'd just feel off to me but wanted a cutiemark that fit him being an artist better, so I redesigned it to now be a pencil between two yin yang sides, with the graphite forming yin and the rubber forming yang, and it's much nicer while still maintaining the same feel
Same here with Spiralhoof. I thought of how to make a spiral interesting. I was originally planning on experimenting with colour, maybe having the same spiral but with like a purple swirl coming off of it or something, but nothing was working, and I also just wanted to keep the general colour scheme she had.
A happy accident later, I come up with this. And I'm actually super happy with it. because it's not just a spiral. It's an INK SPLOTCH! You know, the kinda thing seen in therapy stuff in cartoons where they get you to tell them what it makes you think of. I thought that was perfect for her as it represented her being a therapist. but at the same time it also contains the spiral, representing her hypnotism skills.
Oh, I did forget to put magic on her holding up the watch. I might edit to include it later.
