Luckily, the next day, Fayne and his other friend Gem were able to get Ruby out of the Ruby quite easily! Seems that whatever it did to her, it wasn't permanent. Fayne however seemed a little... different. Did he do something with his hair? Or was it the way he was carrying himself? Eh, it was probably nothing though, so Ruby and Gem left him to his own devices. What they didn't know, is that his soul had been replaced with a copy of Ruby's... Over time, he began to adjust quite well to this new lifestyle, and his body even adapted itself to the new spirit inside him! He felt completely normal though, so he didn't think much of Ruby's shock when he showed up a few months later, after becoming practically a clone of her...

Ruby, being used to all sorts of weird happenings, was startled but not creeped out by the sudden near-twin she now had. She wondered for a moment if she should try to help him, and find a way to turn him back, but he seemed pretty happy like this. And she'd be lying if she said she wasn't having fun with him in the mall- although this new Fayne seemed a bit more promiscuous than her somehow, as if he was over-reacting to make up for lost time... Well, at least she now had a new bestie, and they had so much in common! Can't ever complain about something like that... Then she remembered something...

What did they do with that ruby, after she had been freed from it, all those months ago...? She couldn't remember... Suddenly, Fayne- no, *Rayne* grabbed her hand and lead her into a Hot Topic. Distracting her for just long enough to forget about it entirely. It was just some stupid gem anyway, right? It's probably fine... Wherever it is...
