This thing gave me Xenomorph vibes when I first came across it. Also, I freakin' love it; I always love to see the penilians depicted as these eldritch abominations (and, in my version, eldritch abominations with a rather brutal cult of sorts... but that's for another day). Wonder how Pico and his friends would be able to fight against these "evolved" penilians.

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to finish this as a late Pico Day artwork, but I need your help to give it some extra oomph.
This is a concept from “Pico’s Future”, a hypothetical Pico’s School spinoff that I’ve decided is better off just staying in the Idea phase. The “Future” part has two meanings - while the game is about the lives of Pico and friends after graduating from high school, they also come across genetically enhanced versions of both humans and Penilians that came from even farther forward in time. This is intended to be a sketch study of the latter, showing important parts of their biology. I wanted to use traits from the original in a way that suggested something even more alien, hostile, and even insectoid, drawing on features from the famous Xenomorphs, Predators, and Predaliens in the process.
So, what other features does this design need to make it look more distinctive? I need help, I don’t have any solid ideas, and I don’t want to get too deep into coloring until I’ve gotten the line work design figured out. Let me know in the comments!

Ooh, I'll have to look at some of your art! I'm a sucker for eldritch abominations.
I think I gave Pico an old mystical artifact to unlock the full potential of his warrior bloodline or something like that.
Maybe his will have keratin natural armour and this will look like scales of fish but looks more like a triangle . And his armour will have main big triangle parts of armour on lifeness important parts of body and little parts on moveable parts of body .
And you can keep white or light gray colours of his bodies maybe lighter or darker in different parts .
You can just keep it in mind .
But i dont know anything of Pico's theme so look on your decide .

Oh lord, evil duplicate of Pico, or a Penilian impersonating Pico. That actually sounds like a fun idea!
Okay, first of all, let me get this out of the way: as much as I've enjoyed my time on NG so far, a lot of the foundational works aren't exactly... "my type of 2000's edge," so to speak. No disrespect to all the work that went into them, I'm just saying this as a disclaimer, that if I get anything obvious wrong, I'm not all that familiar with "the lore."
Okay with that out of the way, distinctive design. I can tell you want to keep it fairly naturalistic and not go overboard on details, so what I'd recommend working on most is actually stance and composure. Assuming the main sketch is a fairly standard rest position, there's nothing all that threatening going on from the shoulders down. Having such a bulbous head would probably give the penilian a bit of a... droopy posture... so maybe it could have a bit more of a zombie-like silhouette. Speaking of the taxonomical elephant in the room, if you're going to have a creature called a "Hyper-Evolved Penilian," it'd make sense for a few of the features - like the back of the head, and the fingers - to be slightly mushroom-shaped. That's all I'll say on that matter, do with it as you please.
