My first entry and upload in general. I used colored pencils on plain printing paper. It started as my second exercise in using colored pencils and blending of them.

art explanation – I wanted to leave ghost of lady as transparent as possible representing void we feel losing someone, but leaving it just blank/white felt to flat so I added pigments of background, shading parts of her again so it doesn’t feel too flat. Only thing fully colored on ghost are her tears, colored in blue to contrast red, yellow and orange around her. Sometimes only thing we are left with are our tears, that is why tears of lover's ghost are only obviously colored part of her as if they are only tangible part of her, last parts of her humanity. Atomic blast in background also represents loss – we often use atomic bomb as representative of the end of the world, and losing someone can feel like the end of the world, and we would welcome actual end of the world in that moment. Same is with use of contrast – man feels cold because of remorse and loss, and she is the warmth he needs.
p.s. Maybe he is the one that set that atomic bomb off, just to be with his loved one?
