Wix sketch

Share

A sketch of Wix, the protagonist of Code of Arcana. They are a venator that was raised with a very uncaring and strict mother and a passive father who taught them about the religion of the devs (basically their gods) and the codewatchers (angel like beings). Wix is often distant yet chaotic in a low key/dry way, as in they will do something absolutely wild with a neutral or deadpan tone. Or they will make deadpan "look at these tomes of knowledge dude" jokes in creepy areas to deal with being uncomfortable. They often don't trust a lot of people and are skeptical of other people's claims until they can find/demonstrate proof, and will have a defensive/guarded stance/attitude. Ex, they didn't really believe the Mage about the Arcana until they showed them direct proof. Due to their partly very religious upbringing, they were somewhat devoted to the devs and had faith in them, but just believed they were hands off to allow for free will. Once they learned of the devs true nature, Wix naturally felt crushed and betrayed. They hold grudges due to their past with their mother and hold on to anger easily. They looked after their younger siblings, and have trouble forming bonds with others, but once they do, they protect those they are close to with their life. Wix doesn't have a good grasp on their sanity and this is evident in the comic that I may eventually make.
