I drew President Nixon patting Kaguya's head for the 4th of July. This drawing took me an especially long time since I had to manage a waving flag on top of two figures interacting with one another. I also made sure to differentiate between Kaguya's vest and the American flag. While the Vest possesses a light blue as its off-white alongside a general grid of stars, the American Flag has pure white and fifty stars. If there was ever a time to make sure that the American Flag looked right, it would be for something celebrating America's independence. Although President Nixon is wearing more of a Presidential Poncho than an American Flag one, I tried to make the Poncho resemble a Moroccan Poncho I own in real life.
This piece is one of my favourites since it was both challenging to draw and it includes a lot of elements I love. Unfortunately, due to its complexity and my slowness, I was only able to complete it by 5h00 on the 5th of July.
