Symbiote is a slugcat who've developed a parasitic form of cancerous rot due to their body reaching a critical point, after being afflicted with RED (Rapid Evolution Disease). Instead of their body giving out and dying, it instead developed cancerous masses which developed into a parasitic organism. Overtime Symbiote has developed a mutualistic relationship with their parasitic rot and managed to save themselves from being consumed by it. The rot provides a variety of advantages, though its still a threat to their survival. The parasitic rot still being cancerous, its continuously spreading and increasing in mass. Symbiote has to exert and expel excess mass from their body to prevent being overtaken.

Due to the traumatic nature of their condition, and the damage it inflicted on their body, Symbiote wears a mask to hide away and protect their disfigured and damaged face.

Symbiote is a very fun scug to work on via drawing and coming up with info about their story and biology. Especially when it comes to their rot. Their rot came from cancerous growths that were developing within their body after being exposed to the RED affliction, and over time, instead of their body expiring like other organisms infected with RED, it instead developed into a parasitic organism cancer thing. And I like how they have to expel bits of rot to help keep the rots mass under control (Its a key practice for their survival, but they're also contaminating their environment with a biological hazard)
