Funny, from the thumbnail I had the mental picture of Piko wearing a (stuffed) top with $ on each over-large boob. Something about the shape of the sack I suppose.
Telling impressions and presumptions aside, great piece!
Another one from December. It's my first commissioned piece and It's the last thing I did before I buckled down for these last couple months and tried to learn how color and light work. Mostly I didn't want to keep relying on multiply or color dodge layers.
Anyway at the time, I'd wanted to do commissions for a while, but never got around to taking them (and am still reluctant to) for several reasons.
There was always a possibility that what I produced wouldn't be good enough in the eyes of either myself or my client.
There was also the issue of how much I should charge, whether it was a fair price (there's a lot of data out there, but no solid correlation between skill level and price). The price I decided on in the end was arbitrary, though it was a good bit lower than what some of my friends charge for lineart or flat-colors. Well, at least now I have some frame of reference!
Anyway though, I was mostly afraid that I was just incapable of drawing or rendering a particular character or thing, skill-wise. That's a bit less of a concern at this point.
