The last Mermay-artwork I did this year^^

The prompt was Killifish and I was inspired by a cute killifish with orange and teal coloring.

The first idea was a sitting mermaid.

But then I thought about changing her into a more dynamic pose- like dancing.

Since I wanted her tail to be orange and teal, I thought about what color to make her skin- and a caramel tone seemed to look quite nice.

Added flowers to her hair and drew her some killifish friends♡

Added a wave and light behind her to make her stand out more.

Glow created with Color Dodge and some gradients for more interest.

The last thing I did was to outline some parts with white since she blended in with her background too much.

All in all I quite like this artwork- the mermaid looks like she is having fun and her outfit turned out pretty cute.
