Pride Court

Share

Pride Court is Gangabawie's South Asian enclave.

When the first Indian immigrants came to Canada during the British rule, the council of Gangabawie decided to make Pride Court an ethnic enclave for them. Before it became an enclave, Pride Court used to be a British fort in the 1600s until 1743. Between 1772 and 1889, it turned into a distict full of trade markets for British settlers as well as a fortress for British Indian armymen, the Gangabawie National Trust Bank and Neptune Textile Art College. By 1900, Pride Court has become an Indian community area until Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi and Bengali immigrants have moved into Gangabawie by 2011 after it was recognised as one of the well-known small cities of Canada. When statistics of Muslims being a third majority by religion in Gangabawie had been revealed, 20% of them resided in the easternmost part of Pride Court. However, by August 2016, there has been tensions rising between Indian and Pakistani immigrant gangs even though crime is only by 10%, which is the second-lowest rate in one of Gangabawie's boroughs after Vorderman Greens.

Thanks to Bonhomme's concerns on anti-Islamic settlement, Randall Corwin agreed to sign Muslim Community Co-Leader Farid Assin's petition to install Shari'ah Law in the new Muslim populated districts including Pride Court but this caused a massive backlash amongst native Canadians, conservative Christians, Canadian nationalists, Sikhs, Hinduists and even Shia Muslims, resulting the petition to be delayed. Even though Pride Court neighbours Carbon Heights where several mosques are made, there are social justice protests demanding more mosques in Pride Court and Shari'ah Law to be made, but the Shari'ah Court has unfortunately been settled on Pride Court to instil authority against everybody who dwells on this district, including therianthropes. Ever since therianthropes are present in Gangabawie, highly religious Hinduists have been treating them with plenty of tolerance and compassion. Pride Court is also home to a lot of 5-star South Asian restaurants, textile facilities, '70s style nightclubs, pleasant footpaths, the Sikh community police station and the Canada Bhangra Dancehall.
