illustration i made for the portal "still alive" anniversary zine on tumblr in 2021. we raised almost $800 for charity :) it is thus far the first and only zine i've been in. for some reason i never hear about zines or community art projects until they're over or at least not accepting submissions anymore, but i don't really have the energy to illustrate anymore either so i suppose that's fine...

i wanted to represent the three acts of the game with this. the panels in the front represent act one, where aperture is still broken down and overtaken by decay and plant life. act two is through the blue portal: old aperture, and gel testing. act three is through the orange portal, wheatley laboratories. as a bonus, there's a bit of wheat to represent the very ending of the game, where she is exiting to from the final act :')c i thought i was very clever for this whole setup. this zine was originally supposed to be printed physically, but that never happened and it stayed digital. if i had known that i would have given it some kind of additional background or environment, but i still like it for what it is
