Team Eclipse: Saros, Drill and Breaker

Share

What kind of Sonic fan would I be if I didn't have a Sonic OC at some point? While these three aren't my OLDEST OCs ever, they're pretty old. I used to draw these two and post them on deviantart a lot more back when I still used that. Saros the Hedgehog, Drill the Marten and Breaker the King Crab, these three form Team Eclipse. They get their Team Name from Saros, so here's a character profile on each.

Saros- The Leader of Team Eclipse and the "Key Holder" of the Ruby Key, 1 of 3 artifacts that seal the portal to the Umbral Realm that contains the Dark God Umbra. He practices in magic and uses it to amplify his abilities and fight, in order to keep up with the likes of Sonic he uses the Spell "Moon Walk" to greatly decrease the effects of gravity on his body and uses his magically amplified strength to dash around. In the past, and before getting his powers, he saw himself as listless, lacking a role, purpose or desire beyond protecting his sister Holly. That being the case, he takes his currently role very seriously, to such an extent of basically taking on a different persona. When not actively "in character" he can best be describe as average, lacking any real quirks or eccentricities that would lead him to stand out. When "in character" he can be overly serious and stern.

Drill- Saros's first friend and his "Tails." He holds the Emerald Key in the form of the drill shaped necklace that he normally keeps hidden in his chest fur. Originally Saros has all 3 keys, but he gave the other 2 to Drill and Breaker to make sure all 3 couldn't stolen at once. Due to an accident in his past, he suffered sever injuries but was saved by an elderly inventor named Niles who took him in as a his son where he lived with his Niles' adopted daughter Bailey. After Niles passed of old age, Drill left his home as a geologist and archeologist and on his travels met Saros and become good friends. Being a cyborg he uses his robotic parts to fight, his giant drill tail can open up to expose a rocket which he uses to fly and move at high speeds. His brain is part computer, so he is able memorize things easily and has some knowledge in engineering. Despite his condition he's extremely friendly and likes to joke and poke fun at people.

Breaker- A wondering Samurai King Crab who owes his life to Saros. He holds the Sapphire Key in the form of the blade to his katana "Tide Thresher." Saros used magic to reshape the Sapphire and Emerald Keys to disguise them so they would be harder to steal. Having a natural affinity with and control of water he can use the Sapphire key, which itself is attuned to the moon and water, to amplify his own abilities, something Drill cannot do with his own key. Breaker travels the seas, protecting them from unnatural threats and helping those who may be lost at sea. Like Saros, he takes his role seriously, though this is due to his naturally loyal demeanor. Along with water attacks and expert sword skills, Breaker is exceptionally skilled in hand to hand combat. Through a repeated process of cracking and healing, his shell as been hardened to withstand nearly any force. He can be terse, though he's rarely if ever intentionally rude to strangers, Its only with those he's close to that he can be a bit more casual and even rude. He and Espio have some manner of a past, which leads them to become antagonistic with one another.

These are so awesome! I love the stories behind each of them <3

I really like these designs. They remind me of some of the earliest character wads I'd see for SRB2.
