Hydrogen and Helium sprites

I tried my hand at making a sprite for Hydrogen recently, but the Helium sprite I did about 7 months ago.
I'm pretty sure there's tons of flaws in these, so if any of you sprite-savvy artists out there can point me to a reliable tutorial on how to do them properly, I'd be grateful!

Sprite-Style

This one seems like it would work well with some animated element, I have to say this one was really nifty I love the detail that sprite work brings, Some really shiny and swell visuals on sprite work such as the one you have here for us, a very nice and welldone sprite work of art, what more can be said but this design was pretty nifty.
