The problem with being the strong one is that no one ever asks if you're okay. No one knows that I hurt myself, because I just hide it. No one knows that I cry myself to sleep, because I wake up and act like it never happened. No one knows that I think everyone would be better off if I was just gone. No one knows, because I put on this façade. I'm okay; I'm fine; I'm just tired. And everyone just believes it, because they don't really want to hear that you're not okay, or that you struggle to stay alive each day.

On a lighter note, this is my first submission ever for Jazza's Challenge of the Month. I took the picture with specific lighting in order to emphasize that the reflection is in shadow, underneath, where no one bothers to look and can't see. The façade of being strong is what everyone sees. I enjoyed working on this piece. I also enjoyed scrolling through everyone else's work and ideas. I can't wait to see them all put together and see who wins! May the odds be ever in your favor!
