CONTEXT/BEHIND THE SCENES:
Fun Fact: he actually was the first person to ask me for a commission. This was wayyyyy back on Summer of last year. Since I couldn't take any sort of money (I didn't have a means to), I unfortunately told him to wait a bit. However, once I started up the bi-weekly models (that... aren't so bi-weekly anymore), my mind went directly to him, so I felt obligated to include this for making him wait for so long.
WIP #1:
First, I was really struggling with how to start with this model. I couldn't get the proportions exactly as how I wanted them, but I kept pressing forward.
WIP 2:
I also wasn't sure how to pose the legs of the model, so I kept them separated like this, which I would change in the final stages.
WIP 3:
The shoes I remember being tough to nail down as well. I think I got their shape pretty well captured early on though.
WIP 4:
This is when the early stages of texturing began. I didn't allowcate enough space for the textures, so I had to bump up the resolution at somepoint (I think).
WIP 5:
It was at this point that Daniel told me that he had a model of him on hand, and was willing to send it over. The model that is obviously higher quality is the one that he sent me.
WIP 6:
This is a near final model, when I hadn't considered an outline or no shading yet. I think I did a REALLY good job on the texturing. I wanted it to look good, so I really focused on the shape of the lines, and anti-aliasing. The gloves and their textures I reused from my last model, Iris, by @ChaoPixels.
And after that, I just added an outline, and then rendered.
Thanks so much for reading, hope you learned something!
