Character Reference: Vladislav

Oh boy, do I got a doozy this time. This is Vladislav Velimir Faust, a character that's going to be appearing all across my works. How about we get to know him? From my DA upload: https://www.deviantart.com/chaotictempleknight

Vladislav is a Slavic man residing in America and is a bit of a wanderer. He is 39 years old (as of 2024) and 6'4. Originally he was born in the Balkans, so how did he end up in America? Well it's a bit of a long story, but I will summarize:

- - - - -

July 1st, 1985: Vladislav is born to... [ERROR] is created by Dr. Adalph Wolfgang Faust in a procedure involving [REDACTED], a [REDACTED], and the DNA of a [REDACTED]. Very little is actually known about Vladislav's birth. What we do know is that it took place in Romania. What can be said of the self-professed Dr. Faust is that he is a very wicked and uncaring man. He has no qualms about studying illegal science, black magic, and the occult. His whereabouts are unknown and he is next to impossible to track. A photo of him surfaced in 2010, but weirdly the photo has been corrupted. What should be a good quality photo appears old and in sepia tone. People who look at the photo report feeling uneasy and scared, despite Dr. Faust not really doing anything in the picture.

Up until 1993: We do know that Dr. Faust has had to move around all over the Balkans due to his reputation. As Vladislav has reported, his father barely cared for him, giving the basics for survival and not much else. From what Vladislav can remember, they moved from Romania to Montenegro to Serbia to Latvia to Estonia. It should be noted that several of these locations were known as Yugoslavia at the time.

1993: Vladislav is abandoned at an orphanage in Estonia. Rumor has it that Dr. Faust would use the Baltic sea to head north through Finland and into Norway. Why this is is unclear, but several up the doctor's experiments were sighted at [REDACTED], adding credence to the rumors. Unfortunately Vladislav was never adopted due to being unruly.

2001: At age 16, Vladislav would move to Russia to look for work. To his chagrin, the work he did manage to get was only temporary, so he had to keep looking for work.

2003: At age 18, Vladislav was conscripted into the Russia military. The details of the ordeal are foggy to Vladislav, but we suspect this might have been because of the Iraq war.

2006: At age 21, Vladislav was kicked out of the Russia military. From what we can discern, he was discharged for talking back to and assaulting his commanding officers...and by assault, we mean kill... Vladislav seemed to take issue with his commanding officers trash talking America. He did not know what America was at the time, but he said that something did not feel right about it. He got into a shouting match and then things escalated. Fortunately he was able to safely make it out of Russia and fled to Poland.

2010: While in Poland, Vladislav would be recruited by a brotherhood of Occultists and Witches. He claims they were performing small animal sacrifices and he took issue with that, for some reason. After multiple, heated arguments, he was kicked out. Fortunately there did not seem to be any violence this time

2014: At 29, Vladislav returned to Russia to find work, once again. As to why he did not arrested? Vlad states people who were in the know were too afraid to approach him...

2017 and onwards: At age 32... Vladislav got into a feud with a Russian mob. He angered them, but what ended up happening is mind boggling. He somehow managed to kill the majority of the mob, leaving a few survivors. These individuals were away from the mob's main compound. Vladislav recalls being captured, but then playing dead until he got to the compound. Once everybody was off guard, he started attacking. He says he blacked out, but dose remember hearing a chainsaw running and shot guns firing. The survivors are reported to have bribed the Russian authorities to deport Vladislav to America... there's further reports that the Russian authorities didn't even take the money and did it anyway. Vladislav currently has Asylum in America.

As of today, we are actively working to recruit Vladislav into the Liger Brigade. This has been tricky, but I feel Will and I are starting to convince him.

Captain Antares Briggs, signing off.

DISCLAIMER: Despite me referencing real-world events, Vladislav, his lore, my characters, and this upload have no connection to any real-life, on-going events at the time of reading, viewing, or uploading this art. This also applies to any future events that have yet to happen.

HAHA, DID YOU EXPECT TO SEE SOME LIGER BRIGADE LORE HERE? I BET YOU DIDN'T. If you want to know what the Liger Brigade is, check this out: https://www.deviantart.com/chaotictempleknight/art/Liger-Brigade-Interview-Outer-Latexians-Part-1-918379920 and then check the description. Don't worry about the subject of the interview, the Liger Brigade is universal to my works. I really should make a proper lore dump for the brigade now that I think about it...

Yes, that "Will" is me.

So let's talk about what went into this character. I will admit that Ruv from FNF: Mid-Fight Masses did motivate me to make this character. Aside from that, I let my mind take the wheel and just drew what felt natural. Yes, Dr. Faust has been drawn up and I do plan to upload him at some point in the future. In regards to the background, I wanted to do a night scene, hailing back to a drawing I did a long time ago. It was a mid 2010s drawing, but weirdly it turned out pretty good despite my unintentional, quasi-chibi art style of the time.

So what can I say about Vladislav and how he acts? Well, he's a bit odd. He has a tendency to just sit around and do nothing. He may occasionally brush his hair with his hand, but that's about it. His manners are... questionable. He's a bit sloppy when he eats. He seems to prefer meat, needing to be reminded to eat his fruits and vegetables on occasion. Of note, he likes to spend a lot of time outside and will go for walks in any nearby woods. Animals don't seem to be scared off by him, but will move away if he approaches. Strangely, he has a fondness for Honey Badgers and Bears. Despite his odd mannerisms, he is very friendly. Once comfortable enough, he will open up to people he hangs out with. Something of note is that he is very protective of his friends and will defend them if need be. He also seems to love watching cartoons and movies with people and will watch pretty much anything. He also seems to like social gatherings, assuming he's comfortable with the gathering. A word of warning: I he ever roars in anger at you, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. I AM NOT JOKING.

And what of his thoughts on his father? He's going to punch him in the face for abandoning him...hard. Of course... he has no idea what his father has been up to...

Some other things to note is that he is ripped under those clothes. He's also fluent in English, Russian, and various languages native to the Balkans. He also knows some Spanish and Irish. He doesn't seem to age and has incredible physical prowess. He's been observed shrugging off punches and hits from speeding objects. Dodging bullets seems to be second nature to him, but he has been grazed multiple times in the past. He also has a tendency to sleep with his close friends. This isn't romantic, he just feels close to his true friends. And lastly, Vladislav has some animal instincts. He's been observed being more alert than typical humans, sensing the weather, and being able to loosely predict earthquakes.

Jeez, really pushing the character limit this time. So yeah, tell me what you think of the art and the character.
