I'm doing a year summary of my art too but I saw this on Twitter and wanted to do it. I think I improved a lot this year, I think pressure sensitivity helped with somewhat with the texture stamps in krita, I think I should try it with the line-art but I got used to the one's that aren't effected by pen pressure. I do really want to get better with lighting and shadows, shadows I think I can understand pretty well but the light is a bit harder for me to get the hang of.
