NASA recently announced that the Ingenuity helicopter (a.k.a. Ginny) has flown it's final flight on Mars. After completing it's 72nd flight, the helicopter imaged one of it's rotor blades showing significant damage, meaning it wouldn't be able to take off again.

Ingenuity has been flying on Mars since 2021 and holds the record the first controlled flight on another planet! It quickly surpassed it's mission goal of 5 flights and traveled many miles across the Martian dunes.

After an immensely successful journey, it's time for the brave little helicopter to take a much needed rest!
