This was when Bard wanted to stay friends, but Clancy wanted to be more. In a fit of insecurity, rage, and sadness, Clancy started trying to dismantle bard, to everyone's horror.
Luckily, Bard was able to say something so shattering, that Clancy simply went limp, letting them go, and allowing Bard to escape, never to return the same.
