Over the years Engel has acted as Cachusa's benefactor while she took Miriam far from Kolonia, as long as she stayed in contact with agents of Lumas Enterlo. More than once she had disappeared only to reemerge later, but it has been years since last hearing from her or any taking sight of the pair. Though others are worried, Engel is unfazed, understanding it's most likely his niece found it necessary to have any trace of her obscured even from Lumas Interlo given the beginning of the hunts at that time. But like his family, the Olde Lord has not been idle in avenging what was done to them.

Taking a page from his mother's book, the former socialite has removed himself from public life and is conveyed through trusted envoys peers. Hoping to provoke Vladmir from his place in the shadows, Engel has mimicked this game of shadow play and wits. Through influence, guile, temptation, blackmail and even enchantment, Many nobles that sit on Vladmir's governance have come to fear this once unwelcome remnant of the past, now causing division among the people.
