Duuude these are freakin' great. You ol' Bob Ross-type you. :u
This landscape experiment is another COVID creation I completed during the first weeks of lock down in New York. I had fantasized about escaping Long Island by taking a trek up to my old undergraduate stomping grounds in New Paltz, and eventually I did make the journey up to Lake Minnewaska with my girlfriend. While the Empire State was struggling with the unknowns of the new virus, I pretty much ended up working from home in my small apartment, while taking the odd walk along a local nature trail to clear the mind. Bob Ross and other YouTube artists became a staple stream session each day, to the point where my girlfriend and I would spend some time painting with acrylics after work.
In this exercise, I tried to focus on the blades of grass and subtle undulations of a wild, overgrown meadow like the kind you might find in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. I also focused on the wide spectrum of color you'd find in the vibrant wildflowers upstate. This was a fun one to work through, if a little monotonous as I layered in the landscape.

There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents :D Thanks for the kind words.
