Spider-Man Mask Restoration

Spider-Man a significado mucho en mi vida y siempre será mi mayor inspiración.

ENGLISH:

Hello everyone, here I present something that I did 2 months ago but it never occurred to me to upload it, a restoration I did of a Hasbro Spider-Man mask.

The story goes like this: I was cleaning my room (because my mother made me XD, I'm not complaining anyway since I had planned to do it too) and at the top, in a place where I could only climb with a ladder, there was a bag full of things where between things I found an old Hasbro Spider-Man mask from 2010 if I remember correctly, it was unpainted and all glued together with a dirty gray fabric (since my mother had modified it for an event passing it off as a Halloween mask), I had the brilliant idea of turning it to its original status by removing all that fabric and even improving it by adding white fabric and lenses in the eyes, then the painful process of removing all that fabric began. At first it was easy to just use my hands, then the more I pulled out, the more difficult it became. Towards, I broke a nail trying to remove it so after that I tried with knifes, scissors, etc. I wet it and kept trying, I tried with hot water making it burn all my hands, but it didn't work either since there were small pieces of glue that were impossible to remove and all I managed to do was break the mask (the part of the spiderwebs), so I start the plan B: paint it again. I gave it 3 layers of red paint so that the little pieces of glue that remained were not so noticeable, I let it dry, painted the eyes and then came the most difficult part of this process, which was painting the spiderwebs since they were very thin lines, in At first attempt I didn't like how it turned out so I painted it all red again, then it occurred to me to use a permanent marker making this process much easier for me, I let it dry overnight (since it took me the whole afternoon and night doing all) and then came the part of the eyes, I grabbed transparent plastic (for the reflection of the eyes) I made the measurements, cut and paste, same process with the white fabric and...DONE!!! ! More than 10 or 15 hours of work well invested.

Although it could have turned out much better, I am very happy with the final result, the truth is that it was worth every second since I always wanted to have a Spider-Man mask to display in my room and I am happier that I did it on my own. Spider-Man has meant a lot in my life and will always be my greatest inspiration.

Ejemplo de como se veia la mascara hace mas de 10 años (no es la misma pero tiene el mismo modelo) / Example of what the mask looked like more than 10 years ago (it is not the same but it has the same model):

make a custom holleywood undead mask from it

BenNormal responds:

That would be a great idea but I don´t know how to do it for the moment, but maybe one day I will try and make the complete mask from this one.
