Oh dam, would you look at the time! It’s “Bellmo says something hot and controversial again o clock.” I actually like the black leather uniforms from the X-Men movies from the 2000’s!

This isn’t even a “Oh, I grew up with these movies, so I have a nostalgic connection to them” thing either despite the fact these films did come out during my childhood in the 2000’s. No, this is coming from someone who just watched these movies, including the First Class saga since they are part of the same universe, in full for the first time ever this year! I mean I DID watch the standalone Deadpool movie when it came out in theatres in 2016 if you wanna count that as an X-Men movie seeing as how certain X-Men do play a big part of these movies but outside of that, and also watching X-Men Origins Wolverine a few years ago after playing the game (which the game is MUCH better than the film it’s based on BTW) this was my first time watching this movie series.

And when I saw the Black Lether Outfits in these films for the first time, of course I’d be into them. Because come on, have you seen what my fashion choices are like? Skintight, shiny, makes even the male characters look sexy, how could I not be drawn to these outfits and be willing to commission my sona dressed in one? Especially since in Last Stand the suits get little details referencing those characters original outfits from the comics like Wolverines getting yellow highlights, Stoms having white and a cape and Colossus being short sleeved. Plus, and I can’t really explain why other than maybe just “I grew up in this decade,” but these costumes have a real “early 2000’s” look to them that I can’t help but love. There’s just a certain aesthetic to this era I can’t help but love and the drip some characters in fiction wore around this period might have a hand in that. And also what might of awoke my love for this kind of fashion in me two lol. I mean to be fair, The Matrix had just come out before the decade started and leather and latex was like in style around that time so that probably contributes. Or maybe it’s just nostalgia heh.

Would it be great if the suits in these movies were actually comic accurate? Of course it would be! Especially considering other Superhero movies of the 2000’s DID have comic accurate suits. Spider-Man’s suit in the Rami films actually looked like Spider-Mans suit from the comics, Red and Blue just with raised webbing on the suit. Hell for as much shit as the Fantastic Four movies from this era get at least the costumes in those movies look like the Fantastic Four costumes. But for what these costumes are, I enjoy them enough to the point where I’m actively wanting Wolverines one in particular to make it into Insomniacs Wolverine game as an alt costume. Or at least his outfits from Logan. And to be fair, the flight suits during the climax of X-Men First Class do at least resemble the First Class comic suits so there’s that. Hell, even Psylocke in X-Men Apocalypse is Comic Accurate because the actress who played her only agreed to play her if she actually got to LOOK like her.
