Hello, this is my first time joining. Nice to meet you. And I am going to ramble.
I know this is far, far from what Jazza had listed as epic in his examples. I have asked some friends as well on what they thought was an epic Santa. However, I cannot let this image go in my head. It's all I can see every time I think of what to draw for this contest. This is why I felt the need to explain.
Epic meant a long heroic journey or adventure.
Santa, in his simplest most basic sense of being is making a heroic journey as himself to spread joy, wonder and hope. I think, the way he brings hope to everyone and how it travels as time gets closer is something to be admired and labeled as epic. He's a 'fictional' figure that kids look forward to and of whom parents make effort to make real. With these joint effort, happiness is achieved.
I don't really know where I'm going to. I think I just want to say that we too could be epic. It's not about a grand scale of explosions or guns, but a great impact of spreading love and good cheer which Santa's already doing well. Speaking from experience, just seeing anyone make a person smile and brighten up amid all the poverty and distress this world is in is plenty of epic to me.
So sorry if I did or said anything wrong.
