WARNING: This is going to be A LARGE-ASS POST.

There is so much to say, so much to write, and so little to limit it, that I have to warn the ones that will read this (if they do, of course) to NOT drop it. becuase the amount of things I will say now is so huge that it TRESPASSES the half of the character limit, so read it if you are SURE of it.

This is for anyone that starts reading this but then drops for some reason, and to not go comment "This is such a huge commentary why don't you write a fucking book then" you Edgelords.

(Dude, this warning is way too long, why did I even made it this way)

Anyways, it is your choice.

Read it or leave it.

Yo ye sure to keep reading that

The Full-Ass Text:

This is something important.

Some days ago, I was really worried, because my art was getting some kind of backlash, specially Freddy, in wich I always wonder why did he got 2 stars if everyone around me thinks he's awesome. I then read the scouting rrules, and I realized that the artists themselves decide what is art. They have the right to choose what their art is going to be, what it is going to represent, and what themes it is related to. Meanwhile the observers interpret what they see in their POV, because maybe it has somewhat a different meaning that also makes sense in the mind of that person. I realized that, to become recognized, you needed to make it work naturally, to let others see your work, to not be afraid. For a long time,I was afraid of what everyone would think of me, if my art isn't good enough, if I was annoying to others etc. I have read the Handy Dandy guide to scouting, and I realized that you must do things with passion to get the attention of what you want. I never asked to be scouted, because I knew that it would be ridiculous and annoying, and then, I started uploading the best art I had, and waiting for my time to come.

And it came.

If you are an unscouted artist, don't worry. If you make art good enough, one day, someday, someone will see your effort and passion put toghether into making beautiful works of art. It happened to me. I started to be active in forums, meeting new users, with different tastes and different opinions, different artstyles, different personalities. After 1 week of uploading art, I have finally become one of the artists in the community. So, dear, please, let your work grow. Let your flower grow naturally, with good and bad experiences. Maturity is about evolving and learning from good and bad experiences. Art takes time, it is not something you can do overnight, only if you are good and/or lucky enough, it is a whole process of development into becoming what you dream of.

So, scouted artists, I recommend you all to look for people with potential, to give them a chance,to make them grow, so they can turn into beautiful flowers, and even becoming a new influence, I say: Give Them a Chance. They gave me a chance, and I succeded. My time had come, but this is just the beginning. There is a lot more on the road. There are a lot more good and bad things to learn from, a lot of experiences to go through. A lot of challanges, a lot of smiles, and a lot of tears wil be in your way. So, to both undiscoverd and Aproved artists, it is the same message. Don't Give Up.

I usually let people make their theories before showing them what my darwings actually are, but here, I will explain here. When I entered and saw the unscouted artists , I observed some very good works, like mine. I saw those flowers growing slowly, but healthy. I saw potential, I saw power, I saw expression. I would look at those works and say:

" I would scout this person if I was scouted."

Now, I want to give them chances, and oportunities to become what they dreamt of. Even the flowers that did not grew yet, I hope they do, because every journey starts with the first step.

Even I started with the first step, everyone does.

My journey started off in a good way, according to what I may believe. And it is just starting, so im am going to keep up the hopes and ideas for my drawings, doodles and illustrations. And I think you, fella artist that is reading this, should do the same.

When I first read the Scouting rules, I felt like I was in some kind of big competition in wich everyone fought in the arena to be the Chosen One, and that everyone competed with eachother to see wich one get promoted or not. But I started asking and taking people's advice to just do what I want with all the most pure passion and expression I had on my mind, and to drop it here, as a form of sharing my thoughts, Points Of View, powerful messages, and all the most wonderful things I could ever imagine of.

Something I noticed is that, in many places, one of the following two (and it was always ONE of them) is focused on: Quality over Quantity, or Quantity Over Quality. But here, I saw that, what really matters may be quality of course, and it will ALWAYS be quality for me, but that in all posts, they focus in BOTH Quality AND Quantity. I see the thousands of artists that have so much talent in their hands, and they do it in the right way, like what I was trying to do. And somehow, I did. If you have talent in your hands, use itas much as possible, because it is something that you might have, but others don't, so, use it carefully, and rightfully. Your passion powers your imagination, and it makes the piece of work gain expression, meaning and context, both in your Point Of View and in others Point Of View too.

The objective of this post and of this commentary is to give advice that art is not easy as you might think, everyone faces challanges, even artists and authors that are famous here had to deal with big problems, but at the end, they could make what they wanted because they trusted themselves. You may think that they're accepted just because they are famous, but, believe it or not, they are allnormal people with normal lives. This is not their only-home. It is a second home. Also, pressure is something that should seriously be taken care of, because maybe you are requesting your fave artist to do something when they are so occupied, and it makes them so much stressed. It feels like a tiny bird that bites you if you don't work. So, fellow NewGrounder, PLEASE, do not put too much pressure in your favorite artists, because the amount of overwhelming stuff they have to deal with is uncountable. So, the thing you must do is to wait them to do their work, because you will hope it is something good, and if it is not, TELL THEM what is wrong, so they can gather enough experience and strentgh of it. This counts for every artist. Famous, featured, undiscovered, aproved... If you think a piece is wrong at something, tell them WHAT IS wrong, and they will write that down to work on it more properly.

And I know this was a large-ass text to read and understand, BUT, the only things that I expect from you are your atention, patience and understanding of this commentary. It is a life experience for me, that helped - and will help- me gain knowledge and maturity of the current themes. Now, to finish off, one last message:

No matter what, do not give up. Do what you love, with passion and expression. Let your flower grow.

It is part of your journey, maturity, evolution and growth.

-P.S: If this was too long, im so sorry, it is that I just exagerated in this, because I was so inspired and had too much to say, but I hope you paid attention and understood correctly what im interpreting in this commentary.

-P.P.S: Here are some tips to get your art noticed without annying people and forcing them to see your art:

1-Post Fanart.

Fanart is one of the best ways to introduce someone into your art or artstyle. Because the person may be interested in the illustration of the character they like, and if you are good enough, they will go look up more of your content, and will slowly get interested on you.

2-Post Shitons of art, BUT it must be Quality and Quantity Mixed up TOGHETHER

I first started to upload a lots of art, and then the undiscovered artists page was FLOODED by my drawings, so there was a higher chance that the people would see it, and they might be interested on what I'm drawing. And if the art is good AND there is a lot to show, they might give you a chance.

3-Be active in the forums

I've been a lot there, and I can confirm that it's a good way to meet others and to show your art. You can upload doodles there and even recommend people to look at it in the Art Portal. But you can also post stuff that is yours but it is not in the Art Portal, maybe doodles and unfinished projects. A great place.

4-Don't be afraid to ask others

Something I saw a lot were artists that had a strong fear and resistance to show what they did to others, afraid they would not like it. But, it is not what they think. Asking others is not just bad commentaries the whole time, they will tell you where and how to get better at certain points you might have done a mistake, and avoiding those things that make the drawing scrappy is going to get you to be a lot better at art.

5-Expression matters

You can follow everything above correctly, but, something that will make you be in a whole other different level of experience is to make your OWN art. To take the ideas of your head and draw it on the paper. And what I ask you to do is to try to write your own stories, or even invent character designs out of things that are in your daily life and make interesting pieces out of it. It is what I do whenever I draw original art. It is to write and decide what happens, in a way that fascinates you, in first place.

6-It all started Because of YOU

The most important thing that every artist should be adapted with and that every artist must know, is that the story is depending on you. The elements, the beautifulness, everything, is part of your mind's ideas. Even if it is for another series, or movies, or games, you made it. But it doesn't count if you traced from another person's work. This is fucking plagiarism. But if it is fanart, inspired by or original, the most important thing is that you made it, and that you have all its rights to protect it as your own work ( except tracing and stealing. Of course, if you are tracing, you are always CONSCIOUS of it). The people can give their feedback and share their opinions, but what matters here, is that you decide what to do with your art. You decide the meaning, you decide the style, Everything is goinf to be decided by you.

Godammit, why is this taking too long? It even A L M O S T reached the character limit somehow. I want to stop writing but I just CAN'T, Y'know.

If you read all of this shit without dropping, you will have NO IDEA of how much surprised I really am at this moment.

Thank you for your attention, and your determination.

See you, Space Cowboy.
