#1 in my series of drawing character designs based on the celestial bodies of our solar system!

The first one is of course, The Sun itself. These celestial beings are known as "Celestiums", which are kind of like sentient manifestations of the planets, moons, and sun. You could think of them as jojo stands with minds of their own, in a way. Every celestium takes on an appearance and personality that reflects the properties of the world they're from.

Solaral is a large and hot celestium. Literally, she has a temperature that burns unfathomably hot.

Due to being based off of The Sun, Solaral has the power to fuse hydrogen into helium and produce energy from it. It probably sounds super specific and weird for a power, but the energy output is massive. Solaral can fire beams of high energy and radiation that can destroy worlds if she so wishes to, but she's not really a destructive individual.

Due to the huge amount of light gases present within Solaral, her voice is rather comically high pitched. She's got a loud piercing voice, and will get visibly upset if you make fun of said voice.

A part of our star is it's lifecycle. Our star will eventually expand into a red giant, then cool off into a white dwarf. Solaral has the ability to change between yellow dwarf (as seen in the art), red giant, and white dwarf forms at will.

The yellow dwarf form is the default form that possesses a high heat, fusion energy, and radiation abilities.

The red giant form is much, much larger and brighter, and gains more physical strength at the cost of losing the hydrogen to helium ability.

The white dwarf form is very small and has no fusion energy and low heat, but gains gravity manipulation.

Solaral will someday become a permanent red giant and lose the ability to change to any other form, and will much later burn out and become a small permanent white dwarf with limited power. From there, she will live the rest of her days cooling down until she becomes a crystalized and dead black dwarf.

This is an art series I'm excited to do, as someone who's super fascinated with astronomy and similar sciences. This gives me an excuse to get creative with art while researching funny space orbs.

P.S. as a gay man, this is probably the straightest art I've ever made.
